Ty Gwyn – Sleek, Bright and Modern with a Retro Twist

Ty Gwyn is at the entrance to the farmyard.  A more modern house, Ty Gwyn was built in 1970 to provide all the mod cons the 16th century farmhouse lacked.

The house is light and bright, with south-facing windows in most of the rooms to take in the views down the valley to Abergavenny and its surrounding hills. Touches such as copper guttering and oak doors add distinction to its simple white exterior.

Inside, the clean modern lines of the rooms are enhanced by sparkling white walls, Welsh slate floors and golden oak doors. The mix of contemporary and vintage furniture and fittings combine 21st century style with a retro 1950s/60s twist.

Ty Gwyn has cosy underfloor heating powered by an air source heat pump.

“……..This is a most beautiful cottage with stunning views from all aspects, and very well situated for beautiful walks straight from the cottage. It is incredibly well equipped, with everything you could need in the kitchen – no blunt knives in sight! Comfy beds were a welcome plus after a hard day’s walking in the area. We all loved the kind touch of a bottle of wine and homemade Welshcakes waiting for us on arrival, and the eco-ness of the whole place was inspirational. We hope to return soon! ”        Charlotte
